Regañá is a typical Product of Andalusia, a bread without crumbs, fine and crispy, similar to picos (Andalusian breadsticks) that perfectly accompanies any type of food or starter.
Although its origin is not yet clear, it is obvious that the product was being used already a thousand years ago as a solution to the problem of food preservation in the long journeys of sailors to find new territories (originally regañás were called “sailor crackers”). It is a bread derivative, which can be consumed in a variety of ways and has been converted into a delicacy in the Mediterranean diet.
